We are delighted to have won our semi-final round with 76 points.
Judging for the final will take place in the last two weeks of October, with the results announced on December 4th.

Newport won the September (second half) heat with 82 points

The judges made the following comments :
On the Mulranny Road there was 2 tissues and 1 sweet wrapper.
There was 1 ice cream and 1 sweet wrapper on the Glenhest Road.
Georges Street was litter free.
Along Chapel Street to the Church entrance 1 cigarette box and 1 tissue were noted.
From Main Street to the bridge 5 pieces of rubbish noted (cigarette rubbish, tissues and a beer mat).
There was 2 pieces of rubbish on Castlebar Street and 1 beer holder on the viaduct.
The bridge, playground and park were litter free.
From Medlicott Street to the Westport Road there was 1 cigarette box and 1 coffee cup lid; there were also 30 cigarette butts outside The Black Oak.

Judging in the semi-finals will take place from the 7th to the 16th of October, Newport will be competing against Foxford. Final judging will take place from the 22nd to the 31st of October.
